Origin

Founded on the Patience of Small Changes

Zenor Gazette began as a private collection of field notes, accumulated over several years of observing how small, consistent changes in food habits produce outcomes that dramatic dietary interventions rarely sustain. The observation that gradual change outperforms abrupt restriction—both in the published research and in the everyday experience of people attempting to modify long-standing eating patterns—became the editorial foundation of the publication.

The founding editor, Eleanor Whitfield, spent several years as a food policy researcher before turning to independent journalism. Her interest was never in prescriptive nutritional guidance; it was in understanding why some people sustain changed eating patterns over years while others do not, and what the literature suggests about the structural conditions that make persistence more likely.

The publication launched formally in late 2024, based from an office on Sekforde Street in the Clerkenwell area of London. It publishes long-form editorial articles on food and weight connection, eating patterns, and the gradual rhythms of nutritional change.

Editorial Focus Areas
01 — COMPOSITION

Food Quality Over Quantity

The publication examines how nutrient density, whole food choices, and the composition of meals shape the long-term relationship between eating and weight. The argument is not against quantity but for a more considered attention to what that quantity contains.

02 — PATTERN

Eating Patterns Over Time

Individual meals matter less than the patterns into which they fall. The archive prioritises research and observation that attend to weekly and monthly eating rhythms rather than daily dietary prescriptions. The long-term eating rhythm is the primary unit of analysis.

03 — CHANGE

Gradual Habit Formation

The editorial position of the publication is grounded in habit-formation research, which consistently demonstrates that incremental change produces more durable outcomes than abrupt intervention. The archive documents this principle across a range of food and weight topics.
